Gratitude is What Makes Life Significant

IMG_0171

We sometimes find ourselves asking so many WHY’s about the things that happen and people who touch our lives…

We sometimes feel a sense of disappointment, frustration, and to certain extent, sadness for what we could not have, where we could not be, who we could not become.

We experience times when we ask:
why?
why now?
why not?
why this way?
why cant I?

Our focus on what we couldn’t have, or on questions we could not find answers for, robs us away of understanding the true meaning of the things that happen to our lives.

Our focus on sadness, frustration, disappointment, and lack of control takes away the opportunity to experience true joy from what we have and what we have been given.

Our focus on the thought that “life isn’t fair” stops us from truly living the life – the ONE life — we have been blessed with.

Life is short…ephemeral..so quickly gone. Let us not waste a heartbeat by not being happy. I have learned this so early in life, and I have been reminded of this recently with the twists and turns of my life — that theONLY WAY to be HAPPY is to be GRATEFUL.

Be grateful for what you are, for what you have, for who you are with, and for what you have been given. Be grateful for the little blessings that come your way. Be grateful for your health. Be grateful for the family who loves you. Be grateful for the friends who are always by your side. Be grateful for the job that allows you to put food on the table. Be grateful that you woke up this morning. Be grateful for the opportunity to do something that makes a difference. Be grateful for the people who love you. Be grateful for the people you love.

Be grateful for the people who pass your lives. They ‘happen’ for a reason. Appreciate whatever you have with them. You don’t know how long you will be able to share parts of your lives together. YOU DON’T KNOW.

No one knows.

Just live in the present. Create moments whenever you have the opportunity to do so. Every single day you wake up is an opportunity — to create memories, to find happiness in things that happen to you, to bring happiness to other people’s lives, to live. To LOVE.

The only way to be happy is to be grateful. The only way to know what LOVE is, is to appreciate LIFE — our life and our lives with other people. The only way you can appreciate life is when you are grateful for WHAT IS and hopeful for WHAT IS POSSIBLE.

The only way to truly LIVE is to LOVE.
Be grateful – you will find love, you will openly give love.
You will experience how it is to be HAPPY.
